Description

Youth Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, other health and human service workers, and caring citizens how to help adolescents ages 12-18 who are experiencing a mental health, addictions challenge or are in a crisis.

This course is delivered by two certified Youth Mental Health First Aid USA instructors who completed a 5-day training and meet other certification requirements.

Lunch will be provided.

*for those who meet the criteria of the MDCH Grant until September 30, 2014. Call to request the cost for training after 9/31/2014.

NOTE: There will be a cancellation fee of $20.00 if you do not give a required 7 days notice and/or if you do not show up for a class you are registered for.

Who is eligible to take this training for FREE?

This Training is available at no cost due to a grant awarded by the Michigan Department of Community Health(MDCH), until 9/31/2014. This training targets and trains laypersons that work and/or interact with youth (i.e. parents and foster care givers, educators, faith community/clergy, health care providers, law enforcement, juvenile justice workers, and other interested laypersons in Battle Creek, Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, Genesee, Kalamazoo, Kent, Muskegon and Saginaw counties. Most everyone meets the criteria if you are in the region listed!
